2nd Annual Grand Reading Jamboree
April 6, 2019
At Schenectady High School
12 pm - 4 pm
Admission was Free
There was Free Food for all participants!
Each child received 4 free books
Free Transportation was provided from all of the Elementary Schools
Al Magid read a Dr. Seuss story
Reading
Dogs and our bookworm were there
Children's Author Liz Zunon was there and each family got a signed book
Children's Author Ellen Senisi was there and each family got a signed book
There were Free Crafts and Activities
There were Stations for each Elementary School with activities and murals made by students
Food was prepared by the students and staff from
Schenectady's Steinmetz Culinary Arts Program.
Each participant will receive a free food coupon.
CAD students helped children create buttons and gave out information.
Schenectady County Library was set up for new registrations
for library cards and crafts
WMHT had activities and give aways for the children.
This event celebrates literacy and shared literacy activities with Schenectady CSD families. Our underlying goal was for the caregivers of these youngsters to witness the importance and joy of reading, and learn some tips on reading and activities to do with their children at home.
