Each child received a passport where they answered questions and got their passport stamped in all the themed worlds around the Proctors complex.  Each world was designated by a mural designed and created by each of the Schenectady CSD Elementary Schools.

This event celebrated literacy and shared literacy activities with Schenectady CSD families. Our underlying goal was for the caregivers of these youngsters to witness the importance and joy of reading, and learn some tips on reading and activities to do with their children at home. The event was a huge success!   Over 850 people attended.

Food was prepared by the students and staff from Schenectady's Steinmetz Culinary Arts Program. Each participant  received a free food coupon.

Thing One and Thing Two also Cat in the Hat were there

Schenectady County Library  had a set up for new registrations for library cards and sponsored an area for parents and caregivers with tips on reading with their children.

The SCLP and Friends of the Library will also sponsor Thing 1, Thing 2 and Cat in the Hat for autographs and photos.

WMHT had activities and give aways for the children.
